About Us...

​Our Church's Story

 

 

In the year 2005 God gave this young Pastor a vision to pioneer a new church in the city

of Chennai. As he was praying in the presence of God to know God’s will regarding the

location of the church God spoke to Him very clearly through Zephaniah 2:6

​

With the word of God burning inside He started looking for a place for the church. At the end

of 2 months the search ended when they reached the location that was in the mind of God.

​

House of Peace church was started on 18th June 2005 in a placed called Thiruvanmiyur. This is a very busy junction that connects the IT highway and the East Coast Road. It is a highly populated part of the city with approximately one lakh people living here.

​

This church has grown to what it is today only by faith and the increasing grace of God. Our desire is to see the community being transformed for God’s glory.

About Pastor

 

 

Pastor S. Venkat is the Founder and Senior Pastor of HOP Church. God given faith and

His abundant grace had taken this man all through this path which has led him to the

establishment of this church. His love for God has motivated him till this moment to run

for His Kingdom’s glory.

​

He started his faith journey in the year 1997 when he was just 18 years of age. He got saved in

1997 and committed himself for the Lord’s work in the year 2000. He then joined the Madras Assemblies

of God Bible College to pursue his Theological studies in the city of Chennai. After finishing his theological

studies, he ministered in his home church for more than a year. By the will and grace of God he was united

in wedlock with Gayathri who has got the same passion for ministry and love for God.

​

Together they have run the race of faith till this day. And the Lord Almighty has marvelously and wonderfully

led them in their ups and downs.
